Cool concept! I wasn't really sure what to do at first in the combat, but once I figured it out I got the hang of it. I think it could have been a good idea to colour-code the direction keys to make the sequences easier to remember. I also wasn't entirely sure what some aspects of the combat meant-- it didn't seem like just completing a combo dealt damage, unless the enemy had some kind of shield? I'm not sure.
Either way it's a cool idea and could definitely be developed for more clarity and interactive feedback post-jam if you felt like it!
