The "Exception Occurred" to me too in this same scenario. I think it is just one of the story endings.

I played the whole game in ubuntu xenial on x86_64 cpu (running ./DDLC.sh), with no issues at all but this, which is showing as no-turning-back.

Aside from the exception message itself, never nice to see, the game suffered from errors from that time on. The main menu entries became corrupted, so I had to quit the game. Launched the game once again, and I saw the same font corruption, further the program deleted ALL my saved games AND no new games can be started because the engine says one of the character files is corrupted (can't remember the exact warning).

I would like to help developers but I currently don't know how to attach the traceback text file created by the game.

Hey there!

Thanks for replying, but I did manage to get help from someone. Boy this game really scared the crap out of me but the ending just blew my mind! 10/10 great game lol

SPOILERS:

All of the corruption was meant to happen, it is the byproduct of Monika tampering with the game files to get you alone (as seen in act 3).  The game is meant to show:

"An exception occured

File "game/script-ch5.rpy," line 307

See traceback.txt for details"

In the traceback.txt is the line: "Oh jeez...I didn't break anything, did I? Hold on a sec, I can probably fix this...I think...Actually, you know what? This would probably be a lot easier if I just deleted her. She's the one who's making this so difficult. Ahaha! Well, here's goes nothing."

This is Monika talking directly to the player.

Oh gosh, you're right, and now this all makes sense!

Thank you, I'll install the game again and again because it really is an impressive masterpiece!!!
