He turned around
"Fine. And if you lie to me again I will have no hesitation."
"T-t-thank you..."
She pulls out her phone and scrolls through it, then shows a photo. It's her when she was younger-she's at a circus...performing. There's a person tied up on a spinning target-as she aims a knife just above his head, all of her focus clearly on that one spot, eyes narrowed in determination. There's several knives already in the target, inches away from the person, and although she hasn't thrown this knife yet Dawn can tell-she didn't miss.
"T-this...this was me."
She sighs
"This is...w-why I'm ambidextrous. I used to work as a circus performer-I threw knives-I had to learn to use both my hands in case one got injured-that way I could still perform. I just...I don't-really like to talk about it. Or...anything having to do with it-it wasn't-a great period of my life. And if I have anything linking me back to it...then sooner or later, I go right back to being the circus freak. T-that's why I lied. I just...I'd rather at least pretend to be normal..."
