about the bass lines, like i metioned in other reply, im a sucker for prog tech death, and the bassist in those bands play really melodic bass lines from time to time.

I suppose that's fair! You did a lot with 4/4 though.
the thing with defining prog is that uses wierd time signatures and harmony, and the harmony is wack as hell for sure xD
