I remember liking this game when I first got it in the itch bundle, but I've tried to redownload it now and when I open it, I get this error:

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Hi. Thanks for getting the game. Sadly this was an error I wasn't able to solve for every machine/configuration.

Some solutions were:

1° Sometimes it fails to open if the game window is not active during the initial loading (like opening the game and clicking other windows when it's loading can break the game)

2º It also can be the Direct X (if you Direct X was not updated yet)

3º But If the problem persists you can try to execute the game with NOSHADER.exe inside 'D3DXCompile failed' folder (version 1.6 and 1.7).
