Thanks for letting me know about the problem! I have a hunch about what it might be.
After you press the End Turn button, and the moon starts spinning, is a new random event generated? Or is the random event missing?
Random events are still firing - I ended up meeting Sam for the first time in this campaign, and progressed through a series of conversations which included setting up a romance.
