This game is really gorgeous, and I think the mechanic is a fun one. My main critique is that the movement is pretty tough, especially because there isn't any air control when jumping. Also, the powerups were kind of hard to differentiate, as well as determine their effects. Some text explaining what each powerup does, or some sort of compendium that fills in combinations as you learn them (or the player has to fill out) would be super helpful, and would fit with the theme of alchemy.
