Quite challenging, especially with the game being in such a tiny window it was kind of hard to make out the instruction prompts, but I did eventually beat the game. The first time around I didn’t realize I could walk on land and I thought the only thing you could do is shoot, and I couldn’t read the instruction at the king/queen because it was so small, so I just shot them and was confused when it failed the level.
The graphic style is simple but really appealing, it’s got a charming aesthetic that works quite nicely and draws you in. I’m a sucker for this kind of tropical island type look with the sandy beaches and whatnot. It’s very economical, basically, a lot of meaning and mood conveyed with fairly few pixels.
Mechanically it was pleasing, the inertia in the ship steering was nice and smooth. Sometimes it was a bit tough to tell how much health the enemies had left and I would waste an extra shot on them.
Regarding difficulty, I found it a bit odd that I could just go around collecting all the trees on the map and build the bridge instantly without having to worry about enemies, since they only seemed to start spawning once the first bridge piece was down… Without that little oversight it might have been a tad too difficult to finish.
