also some other things that might be cool but would be difficult would be have pilot controls separate from main console and allow asteroids style of controls for moving the ship. left click to go right click to rotate to heading.

for star map having drawn line between jump you have made before, and more descriptive map objects for systems you have been to for stations on asteroid belts.

on radar for both command station and gun control, have ways to see if friendly or enemy ship or station (colours for faction maybe) or also having a known factions tab in command station.

last idea right now would be to have ways to board vessels against will of their crew like a hack point at the airlock or if you destroy their door control module then the doors open for every one, or if door control was damaged then all air locks lock and all internal door stay open making a damaged hull more catastrophic but not condemning the crew to immediate death.
