I'm not gonna lie, this game was...kinda weird. I played two of the areas, and then I was told I hadn't made any memories and it took me back to the title screen so I couldn't play the others and frankly I had no motivation to replay from the save where I was able to choose where I went.

I'm no closer now than I was when I started to understanding who exactly Kasper was and why I was doing these things. They seem to be memories of stuff he did already, so I could grasp that at least.

The maps are a bit all over the place and it's difficult to tell what's what. The "trick room" was rather frustrating as there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to working out what way to go besides just going in a direction and hoping for the best. It was doubly annoying because I ended up getting the next teleport but didn't notice because of how similar it is to the screen with the rope and ended up leaving so I had to do the puzzle twice.

I did like a couple of the mechanics, like the portable shop and exchanging levels for skills, but it was a bit jarring levelling up so much from battles regardless. That's possibly just because it's something I'm unaccustomed to, but worth noting.

I'm not sure what else to say, really. I usually get some kind of feeling about a game after I'm done playing it, but after playing this I just don't feel like I've experienced anything new. The events were so disjointed I couldn't enjoy them as a narrative, the characters didn't have any real connection to each other, and I don't fully understand what I was playing. You did manage to incorporate the theme though, so well done on that!

Edit: one thing that might be worth looking at if you continue developing this is that it's quite tedious to sit through the credits after every area.

Thanks for playing trihan, I appreciate your feedback. The continue system is fairly broken, I've tried many times to fix it but there wasn't enough time left. The game comes together near the normal end, but you're supposed to be able to enjoy it without getting the true ending. I'm aware that this game won't be for everyone, but I'm hoping some people will get what I was going for. :)
