the downloadable file is the unity html file... You have to set the game type to html and set the uploaded zip file to "play in this file in browser" (or something like that)

I know but for some reason when I do publish it using webgl build and it goes online, the game doesn't run for some reason. I'm not sure why, because it works perfectly fine in the editor, and I have checked the tags of all my game objects and the scripts and they are all fine, so a bit confused really.

In player settings at the bottom are the publish settings and there you have to disable compression otherwise it wont work
