I was thinking 2010 as that was roughly the period of the so named "bookstore apocalypse" in which several bookstores, including Borders, were collapsing under the sales slump from the recession and Amazon competition.
I had a slightly different idea involving borders, but when I was looking up Borders and saw mention of a "bookstore apocalypse", that's what it had to be.
