I mean it opens up story opportunities, I personally want a romance arc with him or cray. But yeah if you have enough corruption you can corrupt abel and even the guard outside the gates if you want a pure corruption run.
You should be able to if you want to I guess. The only corruptive thing I did here was go with Kanathar and, even then, he doesn't do much yet. It's good to have options though
