Fantastic presentation. Love the rounded screen effect, graphics, setting and level design. The snap movement on grid was a nice touch. Awsome job with that NES cover too btw.

I was a bit confused by combat at first, I thaught I was doing something wrong or not playing correctly when enmies would hit me after I attack and I couldnt do anything. Then I got a the shield and combat was more fun, and made more sense.

The only other thing is, I dont see the point in dying if nothing resets. There really was no conesequeses. All the cleared rooms just stayed empty, so there really was no threat or tension, when I died. I just went back to the room I was no problem .

Otherwise, masterclass stuff. This is one of the best of the jam and I hope you place highly.

For jam purposes we opted to keep the rooms from fully resetting (though I still have a to-do item to make enemies and vases respawn) The game takes some roguelike elements like enemies attacking you when they have more health than you are able to dish out which is why the shield is such a helpful item to have. Thanks for playing!
