The story is very simple, yet, the game focuses more on atmosphere, for example - the rope hanging from the tree, the mysterious people just watching over you in the houses and if you investigate more outside the forest too. It's just more of a look around, on spot game, which is once again written in the description.
As for the jump scares, I would say no, the game has no jump scares, it's an atmospheric game, once again written in the description.
