OK. I tried again. I think it was my RAR opener. I downloaded a new one and was able to play no problem.
It's a simple concept. Reminded me of the challenge mini games in Super Mario Party. But even for the simple gameplay, I did get a sense of tension and enjoyed my time winning the tournament. The extra touches you put into the artwork for the stage/arena helped the worldbuilding. Even just getting to name my character was a nice touch.
I do wish when I won the first two rounds of a match the game would recognize I already reached the win threshold and moved me on to the next opponent. Also, for some variety, you could have had a couple unique time signatures. So, let me try and explain.
1. Typical countdown each second is a second.
2. One, one, two. So the count could go 10, 9, 7, 6, 5, 3 ...
3. Doubletime. Every second is two seconds.
Then you show more of the countdown early on so the player gets to pick up on the rhythm and try to follow along quickly doing the math before hitting the button at what they think is zero.
Overall, great work and thanks for sharing.
Wow man such an amazing comment, thank you for the feedback!!
Yeah the main idea of the game was to create a silly little game, I got a little motivated with the art and being a bad artist it took me too much time xd. I definitely agree with all the ideas that you suggested, they would make the game a lot better, some of them came to my mind when I was making it but because of the lack of time I couldnt make them into the game (I uploaded the game 5 minutes before the gamejam ended xd). Thank you again man, I appriciate that you took the time to write something about the game, I havent have time to write comments about any of the games in the game jam but I have rated them all, tomorrow I will play your game again to analyze it and give you my thoughts and the best feedback I can come up with :)
Thank you and good luck for your future projects! :)
