downloaded and tried both 64bit&silicon on my m1, with steam open. Both says I'm not authorized to open application.
Yes I had this problem. The reason being is dani isn't an identified developer, so apple blocks him. You need to go into terminal to solve this. Here's what I used to open it:

do the servers work for you? i can get the launchers to work, but no servers show up.
