I've been following itch.io horror projects for a while and there's a certain brand of horror, combining the industrial complex depression and liminal spaces, that always stuck out to me.
Roadkill Agora is a quiet horror game. There isn't any real monster awaiting for you somewhere, instead, you are presented with a perverse, dreary virtual space presented as an old, decaying town, with all its residents unsure about what's next. You are just one of those confused people, there's nothing exactly special about you. It's a type of horror that is more social than primal.
The game doesn't hold your hand, and it's easy to get lost, if you're not paying attention or aren't patient enough to find the solutions. It is both anxious and meditative, with no blurry lines in-between. If you let that feeling of mundanity wash over you, then you've basically understood the game.
As for playtime, I guess 2 optimal playthroughs (both normal and secret ending) would take you around 1.5-2 hours, but I spent more than that just trying to break it, because there was always the feeling that something is off, that there's a deeper secret behind the curtain. For a first game, it's bloody impressive. Please keep making stuff like this, if you feel motivated to do so, because there's never enough projects that fall into that little niche you've explored here :3
