High speed bug - this happens if the player is running while saving. You just need to run a little, then the speed will return to normal.
Did not understand about the scarecrow. you need to shoot at the scarecrow aimingly (move the cursor over the scarecrow and wait until the two stripes of accuracy match, the sight turns red), I will assume that you did not do this, but simply shoot at it.
