Thanks for the review!! Congrats for beating the boss, its not an easy task! We were aware of most of these issues and thanks for pointing them out. The initial idea was to make this a roguelite but for obvious reasons (time) we had to scale it down, so it ended up feeling not much like a game from this genre. The non-checkpoint is exactly an elemnt from this genre that maybe didn't fit well. Also for the boss, it more about power up management, if the player manages to get all the weapon powerups, the boss hp melts away (specially with the "machine gun", which is the best weapon to kill it). We wanted to make the boss have a bit more moves so the fight is a little more interesting, but time ran off and thats what we managed to get.
