He smiled a bit bright, and waved slightly at his step-mother
“Hello, it’s good to see you made it back safely!”
His stepmother smiled kindly, bending down on the walkway and getting on Sun's level to look him in the eye. She always did that-the only stately woman he had ever seen get her skirts dirty.
"You're sweet-I'm glad to see you're alright too, Sun, you must've been lonely...but I have a bit of a surprise for you-"
(Mhm!)
She ruffled his hair, laughing a bit before standing up and smoothing out her skirts, calling to someone in the carriage.
"Edin! Thalia! Come and meet your new brother."
A boy with dirty ginger hair like his mother's came tumbling out of the carriage.
"Hello, Sun!" He didn't exactly yell but he said it loud and suddenly enough to startle Sun. "I'm Edin."
A girl with brown hair but eyes like her mother's jumped down next to Edin, careful not to get any dirt on her pink dress.
"I'm Thalia. Ignore my brother," Thalia whispered to Sun, "he's a beast."
