same issue here. Have the latest version. I can start a new game or load one that is REALLY OLD!

More info before I give up and call it a day. I went into the setting to change the screen resolution. Once I did that, I could no longer load my saved game. (level 27?) Tried to play and the button wouldnt load the game. Looked at my saved file and it was there.
I mean, it's taken me a very long time to get 100 cannonballs and nearly 100 rough diamonds.
NOTICE
Tried resetting my graphics BACK to where it was before and now NO SAVED GAME WORKS.. Hope this helps
