He just glared at them, waiting for them to leave the room as he held the book to his side, his teeth were grinding against each other so much.. it actually hurt..

they scurried out.

Timeskip to the next dayyyy-

Sun took in a sharp breath of pain and let it out in a sigh. He looked down at his fingers. They were dotted with his own blood, dark like it had started to clot.

"Shouldn't've let him get the jump on me." He thought as he finished tending to the cut on his forehead. "Should've known better. I can't win in this house."

Virgil had never cried over this. He'd never cried over his situation, never cried over everything that had happened since his dad had died. At least, until now. Now, he couldn't seem to stop scrubbing at his eyes to stop tears spilling over and running down his cheeks. Because he knew, if he started crying now, he'd never stop.

“..D-Dammit, stop.. stop.. stop..!”

He’d began to frantically rub his sleeve against his eyes, desperately trying to stop his eyes from tearing up.. but from that, he would be constantly brushing up against the wounds, causing both more pain, and tears to form..

Sun took another deep breath and closed his eyes. Only he couldn't calm down. Whenever he closed his eyes, all he could see was the edge of the bottom step travelling towards his head at high speed. Or maybe he'd been falling towards it at high speeds. He'd been so dizzied he hadn't been sure. Sun snapped his eyes open so he wouldn't have to relive that again.

"Day 1, day, 2, day 3, day 4," Virgil counted under his breath as he pointed at the pictures of sunsets. "Day 5, day 6, day 7, day 8, day 9, day 10."

Sun took another deep breath and sighed in a slightly more contented way.

Thalia: "What are you doing?"

Yet he wouldn’t stop to listen, instead, he would only slow his pace of counting.. and continue the number..

“..Day 11.. Day 12.. Day 13.. Day.. 14.. Day…15…”

Thalia dragged her foot along the floor.

"I came to see if you were alright..."

“…Bullshit.. I’m not falling for another one of your lies, I’ve lived through much to many of them to fall into such an obvious one..”

he would turn himself around, so his back would face her.. still counting slowly as he held the back of his head

Thalia looked up at the grey stone walls. A ring of abstract sunset drawings had been started by the window and was slowly travelling around the tower.

"Why do you do this?"

“.. Why do you desire to know? And why are you even up here.. you did what you see now… so I see no reason for you to care…”

"Don't make a big deal out of me coming up here." She said and the snap returned to her voice. "It's just... we can't have our last servant stuck in his room. So I was just checking Edin hadn't killed you or anything."
