“Of course not, my love.. this is only for the right, if our son is to be king over these lands.. he will have to learn that land itself. At some point in his life, he will need to go out on his own, you know this just as good as I.. do you not?”

His father spoke out.. just what are they talking about? I mean.. sure, the point is right there..  but for “him” to become king, his father must pass, leaving only his mother and himself as the next “throne users”..-

not only that, but he was the younger son-of course him and Lunar had been born really close together, he was only a year younger than him. But by all accounts, Lu was supposed to be king not him-despite the fact that it had always been somewhat up for debate, he always assumed Lunar would just grow into the role.

"I know, Phillip." There was a slight snap to the edge of his mother's voice. "But we've never let him into the kingdom, like we've done with Lunar. I'm worried all this might be too much for him."

Why were they discussing Star's future without him? If he wasn't meant to listen in on their conversation, how was he meant to find out what they were planning for him?

“Love-!…-sigh-,.. I’m getting old.. I understand that this might, and most certainly “will” be to much for him.. but we have no other choice, I fear if we give lunar my role.. he’ll just burn everything we have built, both physically, and metamorphicly..”

"But still." His mother paused. "A coming-of-age ball, Phillip. That's more lights and sound than even you could handle. What makes you think Star could handle it?"

“…I don’t, I’m not even sure if he’ll be able to “make it” to the ball.. but we have no choice, and we both.. know that..”

"He's delicate, Phillip." If Star had wanted to get up and ask his parents questions, he wouldn't be able to now. He felt frozen to the step. So that's what his parents thought of him? That he was delicate?

"Well, who's fault is that?" Star snapped in his head. "You're the ones who never let me leave. Maybe if I'd gone outside with Lunar, I wouldn't be so delicate."

"I'm just so worried, that's all." His mother said. Slowly Star got up from the step.

"Don't be." He thought. "I don't want this royal ball either, you won't have to worry about a thing."

“.. We both are, love.. -cough cough-,.. im going to pass soon.. so please, watch over our sons.. make sure star is able to the right thing.. and.. take care of yourself once I do… please..”

Star ran-well more like quickly walked-to Lunar's room

"Lu, I need help."

“.. Eh-? What are you talking about, your star. If you need help finding your shoes or something, there in- -v-“

"Lu, mother and father are planning my future for me."
