Rose cleared her throat. Sun took the hint and shut his mouth.

"Hear ye, hear ye!" She called. "The palace has decreed that a royal ball shall be held for three nights so that the princes may find a bride or husband."

Mutters and whispers made their way around the crowd at these words. "Princes? Two of them?"

"You don't believe in the legend do you, Rosie girl?" A man called.

"Course she would! Fanciful women like her!

(1 edit)

Just as her mother desired, he had shut his mouth as she spoke, even when the man blurrted out such “rude” words, he stayed silent. But all the while, after she said for the ball.. his mind would soon be a bit boggled, for two reasons..

The first being, why of all days shall they hood such a thing? especially when, he knew that the price would’ve been the same age as himself.

the second.. being if just maybe.. “just” maybe.. he would be able to meet the prince himself.. since well, he has always wanted to meet the prince. Ever since he was a meer child.

Well going even farther-everyone knew of prince Lunar but the second prince had always just been speculation-no one had ever seen him, so most assumed he was just a myth. And wasn't prince Lunar a bit too old to have his ceremony now?

Rose threw her hair out of her face with a flick of her head and carried on as if the hecklers hadn't spoken.

"Finery will be worn and every eligible person in the kingdom is to attend. The royal ball shall be held at the end of June." Rose gave a slight nod and closed the scroll she'd been reading from.

…”I thought that The prince would’ve had his ball a long time ago, why have it now of all times, and better yet.. why “both” of them?.. Wouldn’t only one of them need be married..? If they both did, then.. would that mean there will be two kings?… or.. is it something else…”

Sun threw his basket full of food down on the table and went over to the sink to wash his face and hands. He heard a snicker from over by the door and stopped. Out of his peripheral vision, Sun could see Edin and Thalia hiding something behind their backs. Though, he couldn't see what. Sun sighed out a breath and walked over to the sink.

His hands rose near the knobs, and he did whatever he needed to do before he shook his hands slightly. The moment he was done shaking his hands slightly, he grabbed a little rag, and dried off his hand, he did not wish to know. What they hid behind him, but he knew better to even try to think that they would not show what they hold

ah but there was just one problem-the tap would no longer budge, and no water flowed from the sink. It was completely stuck.

“…-sigh-, I just rubbed my hands over with soap.. jeez, even more vision is becoming odd.. I bet those two did this… just one more year Sun.. just one.. more..”

"Guess you'll just have to go to the well, Sunburn" Edin said simply, shoving the spanner in Thalia's direction. She caught it clumsily and held it away from her dress, not wanting to get grease and dirt over the purple fabric.

“.. Guess I’ll just have to go to the well indeed.. you are lucky this is a special day for mother, if this was any other day.. I would have not hesitated to bring that tool across both y’all’s faces..”
