Every the first try to open the game after last time i opened the computer: game gets stuck in a blac full screen; gives this dialog window:

Fatal error: [File:D:/Build/++UE4/Sync/Engine/Source/Runtime/Windows/D3D11RHI/PrivateD3D11Util.cpp] [Line: 198] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost (Error: )

the fullscreen window that does’t handle events; // i cannnot close it

nex try to open the game: gives (i guess same) error and starts the song;

Fatal error:
[File:D:/Build/++UE4/Sync/Engine/Source/Runtime/Windows/D3D11RHI/PrivateD3D11Util.cpp] [Line: 198]
Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost (Error: 0x887a006 - 'HUNG')

the fullscreen window that does’t handle events; // i cannnot close it

nex try to open the game: gets stuck again and doesn’t play the song;

Fatal error:
[File:D:/Build/++UE4/Sync/Engine/Source/Runtime/Windows/D3D11RHI/PrivateD3D11Util.cpp] [Line: 198]
Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost (Error: 0x887a006 - 'HUNG')

the fullscreen window that does’t handle events; // i cannnot close it

next try:

It starts the main (i mean it seems like it gets stuck in the firs iteration of game loop) screen and plays the song (probably becouse the song plays in anoughter theread than the game loop). gives this dialog box:

Fatal Error!

window is closed right after a press to ok or close in the dialog box;// usual windows error

the next few tries: same as second try;

Thanks for the very detailed bug report! I've looked into this issue and it seems to be Unreal Engine 4 having trouble communicating with your graphics card.

I've uploaded CORE_OVERLOAD_v1.1.zip, an updated version of the game, now updated to the most recent version of Unreal Engine 4, 4.27, in an attempt to fix this.

Hopefully this will fix issues, but if not, here are some options you can try to see if they help:

  • Update your Windows installation to the latest version
  • Update your graphics drivers to the latest release
  • Disable NVIDIA Game Booster
    • NVIDIA and other gpus often offer a Game Booster / Battery Boost / Battery Optimizer that attempt to optimize battery consumption while playing games. Fully disable these options, and if you are on a laptop ensure that it is plugged in.
  • Use the NVIDIA or AMD control panel to force CORE_OVERLOAD.exe to use dedicated graphics
  • Disabling / allowing CORE_OVERLOAD through antivirus/firewall software
  • Try disabling fullscreen as soon as you launch the game (alt-enter should work as a hotkey to toggle fullscreen)

Unfortunately this seems to be an issue with Unreal Engine, and a little out of my scope for fixing beyond the tweaks I've made in v1.1, so hopefully this can fix the issues you are having!
