Oh wow that music, so manic! There were some elements of this game that I really enjoyed and some elements that were pretty rough. The background art is fun and creative (although I didn't know if the giant octopus thing in the lake was an enemy or not) and the game definitely has a style all-its-own. I really liked the idea of the enemies dropping power-ups, although I couldn't tell if they were temporary boosts or if it was more like a level-up system.
Some targeted feedback:
- The movement and cliff grabs in particular could be pretty iffy at time. The speed power-up felt more like a punishment than a boon because of this. The Save point also was continuously saving cause the controls kept registering me as pushing into it.
- One of the monsters would just shoot-lock me to death if it ever started firing on me. It hurts.
- I actually really like the hit-scan laser bar cause you can see exactly what you're targeting, but it took me quite awhile to realize the laser itself was the weapon and that the gun wasn't going to fire any visible projectiles (I initially mistook this for a bug). I was also super afraid to use the kick ability cause of the above-mentioned shoot-me-until-I'm-dead monster.
Thanks for the game, I'm going to have that crazy music stuck in my head now!
