Learn the GameBoy’s hardware properly and write it in Assembly. That’s what people have been doing for years before these pop engines have appeared, and that will always remain the best option.

Don’t knock it before you try it; Assembly isn’t the demon that people are making it out to be, especially GameBoy Assembly, which is primitive.

Yeah, I can agree with you for sure. It's good to try out the works. I never, actually used assembly though.. I am fairly new to gamedev knowledge.. I will give this said "assembly" a shot then!
