yo, can anyone explain to me this trope in visual novels with "roommate" and "landlady"? I'm just reading these novels trying to understand which name I could use & would actually fit these situations the most. Is this some sort of legal thing?
Some games I've seen use "roommate" in place of "sister", and "landlady" in place of "mother" or "stepmother" in order to avoid being tagged as incest or to give players the choice. Most games that do this make sense either way you go, so it's really player preference.
