is this a virus? i'm a very paranoid and cautious person, i have this goose installed, and its pretty nice.

virustotal has 4 antivirus programs that say that it's dangerous but the user say that it's safe so it's your decision

It's not, the maximum that the goose can do - is just to be very annoying

don't worry its fine if you have avg just scan

It's not a virus. It's safe to keep on your computer. :)
