here's an in depth review of the game

.

on the positive side,

the are in the first level looks really good, it's a bit weaker in the second level but it's still very nice!

the music is cool & the sound effects are really good especially the gems & diamonds collect sounds.

the polish is really good, the particles looks really nice, the explosions, the camera movement when moving between rooms, the sound effects, over all really good.

.

on the negative side however,

WASD controls are not supported, some people are fine with that but personally playing a game with arrows is really hard so i just hope you add WASD controls.

the punch is too short and feels really weak, it  has no sound effect & it looks just generally looks weak, and it's controls doesn't help either, especially on the second boss, i think it's range is bigger than what it looks like, but it would be a lot better to visualize that since it made me very confused.

the spider enemy doesn't deal damage at all, just it's explosion, which means i can just jump through it every time (this might be a design choice but it just didn't feel right imo).

the first area rooms are poorly designed, the second room with spikes at the bottom feels unfair, if someone just drops down thinking it would be safe then taking hit, that's bad design bcz the player didn't know it was there to avoid it,

same thing with the third room, those enemies keep following me very quickly and even if i shoot them i can take damage from them somehow, the layers are also so close to each other and it's hard to jump and take the rocket without hitting the enemy above me or even worse missing the rocket and jumping to the next layer by accident.

the ground enemy movement sometimes feel weird, i took damage a ton of times just because i jumped a bit late or a bit early bcz they don't have consistent speed.

the missiles system is cool but i can't get more than 3, and in the boss rooms i can only use those 3, which is really annoying in the second boss.

levels has no checkpoints, and that is fine but there's also no way to heal, which is the thing that really breaks the game, yes i know there are healing power ups i can collect, but they are super rare and trying to go through the whole level without any healing is really tough and can easily get frustrating.

the first boss can be cheesed if you just stay above his level.

the second boss has a melee attack for some reason, i only saw him do it once and i still don't understand why it's there.

the gems has no use whatsoever, other than being a score at the end.

there are some missed opportunities in the level design, for example, in this room i saw that high wall and thought to myself "oh i can use the trampoline down there to get me up here!", i felt like a smart guy, but then i found a second wall and thought i might need some sort of an ability to pass which really disappointed me since i thought i found a secret, but when i went to the right and found that flying platform which just delivered me to the other side... that just made me disappointed.

.

overall a cool game, there are a bunch of problems, but this game has a retro feel for it, and a lot of my negative points can be described as a part of the retro style, i just hope there was a method for healing, maybe collecting 50 gems heals you or something like that?

also you might want to a cover image for the game, and some screenshots, marketing is an important part of game development, and these small things count!

but other than that pretty fun game, good work!

I forgot, there are secrets in the game.

I do know that, I did find the secret heat in the first level
