This is how the Itch launcher works but I don't recommend it for any Renpy game because Renpy is very special for this kind of thing... The best is to backup the "saves" folder (is inside "game" folder) just in case, delete the old version -> download the new one -> enjoy.
That was planned for v0.6.0 and is being delayed "infinitely" until I have enough knowledge and experience to do everything I have planned. For the time being, there are the Moonstars and their mini-game in the meantime (v0.8.0).
