Agreed.

  • The artstyle is very charming. Love it.
  • Love the PvZ gameplay in a rogue-like. Amazing combo.
  • Boss battles are REALLY rng-based in the beginning. My worst experience was getting the first familiar late, and then got like 4 holy poops in a row (Maybe it was dumb to choose it right before the battle).
  • Overall battles seem really overwhelming, but when the rng doesn't screw you over, it's just the right amount of difficulty to make you proud of beating a stage.
  • Tried all of the challenges. Completed two. Insanely hard for me.
  • Items from Isaac are converted very nicely, most of them have an interesting impact on the game. Didn't have any problems with shop prices, even the higher ones.
  • (Almost) Completed one loop, and adding stuff from later chapters to the first ones is a nice idea, on top of other modifiers. I would love to have some more mechanics inbetween stages though. The lack of new familiars, or shops really itches.
  • Last but not least. I would love to have more familiar slots at some point. Or maybe an option to start with different familiars.

Game needs polish. But for an ALPHA? Holy Moses, this game is a banger already.

I completely agree with everything you said! Personally, I haven't gotten to the challenges yet. So, I can't give my own opinion on that matter yet. But, I'm really excited to try them whenever I get the chance. I appreciate you stating your opinion on the thread!
