If you make a game like this again, I'd suggest trying to avoid having quite so many leaps of faith. I know the old games that the character is based on also had a lot (like, way more than your game has), but they are something that gets frustrating quickly. The double jump does help though. Also maybe some more tightly fitting colliders. In the level where the player has to just up between two horizontal spikes, it's possible to be hit by one of them by jumping into the wall behind it.

You're right. I played a lot of Super Meat Boy and Doom Eternal (which is essentially 3D Super Meat Boy with guns,) and I'm used to this gameplay. But others aren't, so it's actually very difficult and frustrating for them.
I made this one for "me", but in the next ones I'll try to be more inclusive :D
