OK so I went online and figured out the reason Lucid 9 wasn't running was because it is a Ren'py game which is not supported by the HIgh Sierra OS. Bummer. Luckily, there is a loophole to run Lucid 9. After unzipping, if you choose "Show Package Contents" for the application file and then choose "Mac OS", you can run the game using Terminal. I'm not very computer-savvy so I don't really get it but it works. However, the same trick doesn't work for Cupid so I guess unless someone figures it out I can't play it.
