Yes, Trijam is supposed to be a 3 hour challenge, but at the same time, the main idea is to practice game development, so exceeding the time limit is absolutely fine. Originally, only games that were made in 3 hours could win Trijam. It was changed in 2020, where we added a rating for "How long did you make the game?", so your time was included in rating, but community didn't like it, since occasionally people would vote less than 5 stars for games made in 3 hours or under. Community wanted the old system of determining winners back. So now it is possible to be #1 in rating, but not winning Trijam.
