He smiled weakly, looking up at him even though his ears and tail were drooped

He spoke rather quickly, almost.. shakey, his hand gripped onto his rather tightly, obviously just, not wanting him in the slightest.. to being hurt..

He forced back a whimper that still slipped out a tiny bit, shaking his head

"I-If I get caught.....I-I will be hurt. But-....but at least th-they won't hurt you....that's-that's all that matters to me...."

He spoke quietly, truly, he just-didn't want anything to happen to him. His eyes started to slowly tear up, not wanting to actually cry in front of him, but.. what choice did he even have? His feelings started to just, leak out of him.
