I agree that this is a very calm and atmospheric game with a sense of sweetness. I love the retrovibe I do kind of wish the MC were developed more as a character but maybe that reflects some of the inherent limitations of the medium? It's still an engaging game.
(Also I don't quite know what the game saving does.)

The saving does nothing yet, it just sits there for future functionality (in fact the “New game” / “Continue game” system is there, but disabled to avoid problems with outdated saves during development). I believe these messages will be replaced by some more advanced splash pages instead in the future while retaining the saving system as it is.
