Really great artwork and RTP edits. Especially the characters were very nice, the vampire himself being a highlight there. You've definitely managed to capture the setting perfectly. Same for the theme.

The battles were simple, but I like how you used them to tell a story. Like the first one where you hunt the deer, who simply escapes next turn. Or how the vampire heals himself during the first turn of his fight from the blood he consumed. There could be more going on there, but for a short game jam project, it's fine.

The mapping in the village was great, you definitely brought that place to life and I like the berry bushes and such, but I felt like the forest location was missing something. It just felt a bit too open and empty. The deer sprite looked really well made though!

There are also bugs or oversights, most likely due to the fact that you had less time to get everything done. The first one I've noticed is that the woman next to the shaman's hut always screams in shock about the MC's injured son, even before said event happens and after it no longer becomes relevant.

Then there's the fact that after you save the MC's son from the vampire, I had difficulty locating the shaman's hut in the first place. Or even knowing that that's what I was supposed to do. From what I remember, the MC only said that they need to go back to the village. Maybe have another short cutscene take place after you get back to the village that informs you that you are on the right track and tells you where to go.

The deer in the forest also doesn't seem to despawn after it's no longer relevant. I've interacted with it while going back to the vampire cave from the shaman's hut after the... event and it triggered the hunting part of the story again, but when I got to the cave the MC disappeared and I couldn't move. I guess some switches weren't set properly.

Anyway, congratulations on finishing the project in time, this was definitely a great submission to this game jam! :)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to get around to making a post-jam version with fixes.
