Hey, have you tried forcing global controller settings from steam big picture? I was having a similar issue and it only resolved after I changed that setting. That said, I'm on Windows 11 using a PS4 controller, so idk if you'll have much luck.
Yeah I tried that, it wouldn't work. I've finished the game now though, so it's not a big deal anymore. I might try buying it on Steam someday when it goes on sale and see if I can get it to work then.
