I can certainly agree with that, tho it needs to have a rhyme or reason otherwise it's just weird for the sake of being weird.

This wouldn't qualify as satire or parody because neither of the elements are there for that.

it's a parody/loving homage to NES rpgs like the first dragon quest.

I remember telling myself half way through that if the last boss is defeated with "friendship" then the game was a meta work.
This IS a parody/satire of abused tropes in writing.
Like characters being all "we are best friends" literally seconds after meeting someone.
Unceremonious deaths because "the plot demands it"
Extremely lame attempts at "subversive story telling" [starwars]. like how hell knight was actually the MC's toy as a child. "OH WOW WHAT A TWIST!" [i actually laughed really hard at this part. it was really smart]
Obvious foreshadowing, like the village where "nothing ever goes wrong"


There's a lot of things going on that are parody/satire. I just don't think that you fall in the target audience.
