Very cute game! Perhaps being able to influence the character to turn around as he seemingly trusts you would help when you realise you've made a mistake instead of having to just watch him fall into the trap. Maybe making the game end when the light is too far away so you can't scout too far might balance this a bit. Loved the art and the glowing crystal effect with the little focused beam was a really nice touch, perhaps this could be used to defeat puzzles and/or enemies to keep the little explorer safe?
