The art in this game is amazing, and the story is gripping. I'm not sure how necessary the free moving parts were though. I felt like they didn't add much to the game. It's also where the game is weakest, for these reasons:
- Lack of player direction
- Backtracking
- No feeling of progression
- Harold's sprite is stuck stepping and has a stray line on the top of his left-facing walk frames
Let me know if you want me to go further into depth on any of these critical points.
I do want to remark on the fact that Lorelei has 8-directional movement sprites and that the animations look very fluid. Super impressive! The bust art, pseudo-animated closeups, and other theatrical tricks are all strong points for the presentation, too.
One last critique: there was one point where Harold exclaims "Lorelie!" I didn't see any other errors in this text-heavy experience, so good job on keeping that to a minimum!
I think this is overall an impressive entry. Way to go!
