I have played it a second time now and you were right. I had to rebirth a couple of times. I think one reasons for why I got through the level so easy last time was that I had huge arms. When your character is to heavy you can use them to press yourself a block higher. Or if the gap is to huge you can use them to reach the other side.
Anyway I wanna make clear that I still find the game amazing.
