Overall: So, first and foremost, it's a bit jank. You can climb walls by spamming the spacebar and hugging a wall (so long as your character is up-right) There's not too great of an incentive to go for the depth bonus, when you can score infinite points without leaving the rock you start on making the water something best avoided. I think there should've been something forcing the player downwards, and I imagine that's the intended way to play the game; going for depth.
Fun: All that being said, this is honestly a good time. The voice acting is great, the physics are incredibly wacky, and it's fun moving the dude around. Even though I avoided the water at all costs, just being able to fly up a wall and do flips kept me very entertained. the little "Wahoo!" and "NICE COMBO" sounds added a lot, abut I'll touch on those when I talk about audio. The actual objective of going for the high score, since infinite points are obtainable without leaving spawn, isn't very exciting, but trying to find a way to go from the ceiling of the cave to the lowest point above water while spinning the whole time so you can get that combo made for some fun runs.
Innovation: Ah, the highscore survival genre. Be it a top down fighting game, or a game about going the distance, it's certainly a genre that has been done before in such a quantity that it's hard to innovate. This is certainly the category where this game falls flattest. I've done more than my fair share of game jams, and I've played a game almost exactly like this is the past. No, in that game the main character doesn't get sick from doing flips, but the point stands that it's a genre of game that's been done before, and this game doesn't make the gameplay stand out in a unique way. I will say, however, I like how there's an "above water" and "underwater" section. Heck, perhaps if I dove deep enough I'd find another section too. I think adding more hazards underwater could make it stand out more, but there's still the issue of scoring infinite points without touching the water at all.
Theme: The game is centered on scoring combos with your flips and tricks, so yeah, I'd agree that it fits the theme.
Graphics: I'll begin by saying the title screen is a bit underwhelming, but I like the water distortion effect. The green barf is a bit outside my sense of humor, but it's better than actually making the screen dizzying. The cave is well drawn, and the the gameplay elements are easy to read. I know what an air bubble is by looking at it, and so on.
Mood: This game's goofy physics and gnarly voice acting bring be joy. It's so cartoonishly out there, that I can't help but smile while doing wonky flips and shouting "Nice Combo!" over and over.
Audio: It's golden. (well, the background music is a bit repetitive, but that's my only complaint) Everything I have to say here can be said in the following section, so let's skip ahead.
Humor: "This will be the best dive ever!" you don't even know the half of it. Honestly, the almost dry delivery at the line makes it exponentially funnier, as I prepare to fly up a wall doing flips until he gets sick. The "woooooorth iiiiiit" like gets me every time while drowning, and the "WAHOOOO!" with every hit of the spacebar as I fly up a wall is hilarious. Honestly, the deep synthy repetitive music almost adds to the humor as well. Smacking my face into a rock while twirling with the torque of a thousand suns, only to hear "oof" and "Nice Combo!" just to do it again, ah it's funny.
Final Thoughts: I enjoyed this a lot. I don't want to sound too critical, as, truth be told, there are a lot of issue with this game, but it's a really fun time. It's goofy, and the voice acting is such a good addition, and I'm glad I played it. Great work.
