Unless the game is "finished", then yes we shouldn't have reduced the frames. However, since we still plan to add more lewds and gameplay, it's very important that we solve these performance issues early on as it's only a matter of updates before drops in performance can be noticed even on high-end devices.

I think I am following what you are saying.
While I don't know the mechanics behind the games animations i suspect the issue will grow as you said. This may be bold of me to say but you could take a moment to potentially look into changing the mechanics of animation in general.
Maybe look into using a paper doll system with separate reuseable animatable parts.
A system like that would be more work to set up, but the result could not only deflate the game but also make adding more to it easier.
