The visuals are stunning and it's polished to a mirror shine, but I can't help but be frustrated at the controls.

Thank you. The controls are intended to be like that, so you can't just stand in one place and shoot the enemies. It ecourages you for more intense gameplay style.

With all due respect, I disagree that that's the effect it has on gameplay patterns, the long ranged enemy attacks already do a good job of preventing camping and stagnation. It feels much more like the movement ultimately takes control away from the player without introducing new or unique approaches.
