Amazing work on setting up the tense mood in the game. The music is great, and kudos for the narrative work. Love the fat monster as well!

On my first try, I initially thought that the fighting controls were a bit clunky, but after playing for a bit I changed my mind — this actually helps make the player feel in danger. You have to be on high alert and you have to use your ammunition sparingly; it’s futile to mindlessly go pew-pew-pew like in an arcade game. This all contributes to making the player feel the gravity of the situation.

However I felt that picking up items or interacting with doors could be improved. It looks like I can’t press E without also pointing the mouse to what I want to interact with on the screen — I found this counter-intuitive.

If you solve this, I’m sure the game will be a lot more enjoyable to control. Great entry overall!
