Sunset Boulevard: This town has some character! I love the gentle tone mixed with the mysterious undertones with the background flourishes that slide in and out of pitch. I am currently playing through Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and this theme makes me imagine a town very similar to the Twilight Town area (one of my favorites!). I think your selection of instruments is super strong for a town theme with the string pizzicato, electric bass, clarinet, and xylophone. The pad you chose is what sells me on the sunset specific theme though. One area I thought might be a good thing to comment on to think about is that you use a lot of upward rising motion (arpeggios, end of your melodic phrase, etc.) which may invoke a sense of sunrise to the careful listener. I also chose the sunset theme and didn’t even think about using downward motion as a musical imagery tool for a sunset, but I wonder how it would have changed your theme if you maybe the arpeggios flowed downward? I loved the submission as is though, excellent job!

Antique Shop: The minimalism in this piece is something to strive for and on par with Pikmin and Animal Crossing. You resisted the temptation to add in more and made something great with as little as you could get away with, and I envy that skill.

Did I imagine the town? Absolutely. The town I imagined is calm and a place of peace, but has just as many shadows as lighted areas with both a sense of joy and of mystery. The antique shop theme is an excellent personality addition that adds a quirky and simple aspect to the town. Nice work and thank you for sharing!

Thank you for the extensive comment! I appreciate it so much!! I don't remember Paper Mario but will check it again for the music and vibes. I honestly didn't thought much of the arpeggios, but it's a good thing to focus about now that you asked about it. I do listen to a lot of Nintendo music (refering more to Pikmin and Animal Crossing, the later being THE inspo for Antique Shop).  It's my first time sharing someting like this, so again thank you for your detailed comment, it will help me in the future! <3
