Concept is a very good use of theme. Neat little puzzle solving. My only issue is the edge detection is a little off, id fall in when I was still on the land I could walk on.

Oh, your comment is third that mentioned falling while standing on land. I ask same question - are you played on fullscreen? There thermometer in UI, that not visible on page mode. If that thermometer falls to zero - your character dies and level restarts. Maybe that happened?
I'll check collisions of course, but that bug continues to elude me (
